TEAM USA GETS TESTED VS GERMANY IN BASKETBALL PREVAILS 99-91

Team USA showed some real toughness on Sunday in their final tune-up ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup. They seemed to be in real trouble down by 16 in the second half of their matchup against Germany in Abu Dhabi, Team USA ended the game on a 22-5 run to win 99-91 over the gritty German squad and finish this exhibition series with a perfect 5-0 record.

Team USA struggled early as the Germans took went on a run late in the second quarter and pushed their lead to as much as 16 late in the third quarter. The Americans responded as Austin Reaves and Tyrese Haliburton spearheaded a USA rally to cut the deficit down to four heading into the fourth.

This is when The Ant Man saved the day . Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves simply could not be stopped. He scored 14 of his game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter, including a clutch 3-pointer with 5:18 to play that tied the game, and his free throws and Jordan like mid-range jumper a few minutes basically closed the door.

For Team USA it is now on to Group C for the World Cup, along with Greece, Jordan and New Zealand, and will begin play on Aug. 26 in Manila, Philippines.
