We Will Never Forget Jason Jenkins

Miami Gardens, FL-

Jason Jenkins was just built different. To know him was to love him. There are not too many words or adjectives to describe the late Miami Dolphins executive that have not been said already. Jason Jenkins was also my dear friend.

Jenkins, the Dolphins’ senior vice president of communications and community affairs, died Saturday, the team announced at halftime of its preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was 47.

The cause of death is not known. The Palm Beach Post reported Jenkins died after “a medical emergency.”

Jenkins had been a senior VP since 2015 and worked for the Dolphins since 2009.

I had many interactions with Jason and became pretty close with him. However I was not alone. Jason made everyone feel like you were his best friend. That you were exclusive media and you were most important to anything the Miami Dolphins had going on.

That is very much how he made me feel. If I had a good idea about doing something personal he was not too busy to listen and offer support or encouragement. The Miami Dolphin organization is legendary in South Florida for the great work they do in the community. I seriously doubt there is another franchise in the NFL that can match the community work that the Dolphins do. The reason behind all of that was the great Jason Jenkins. He always kidded me about being a Raider fan who covered the Dolphins. He really got a kick out of that. I will miss Jason Jenkins. A great, great human being. Our lives are forever enhanced for having the opportunity to know him.
