MIAMI, FL – The Miami HEAT announced today that they have signed forward Nikola Jović to a contract extension. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jović, who was originally drafted by the HEAT in the first round (27th overall) in the 2022 NBA Draft, appeared in 46 games (10 starts) last season and averaged 10.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 25.1 minutes while shooting 45.6 percent from the field, 37.1 percent from three-point range and 82.8 percent from the foul line. He set single-season career highs in points, scoring average, assists, steals, offensive rebounds, field goals made, three-point field goals made, free throws made and field goal percentage. He scored in double-figures in a career-long six-straight games from January 25 through February 5 and connected on at least one three-point field goal in a career-best 18 consecutive games from January 7 through February 12. Jović scored in double figures 27 times, including four 20-point games, and was Miami’s leading scorer off the bench 20 times while also leading the reserves in minutes 19 times, assists 18 times, plus/minus 14 times, steals 13 times, rebounds 11 times and blocks on five occasions. He has now appeared in 107 regular season games (56 starts) with the HEAT, making the postseason in each of his three seasons. Additionally, he has appeared with the Serbian National Team over the last four years, helping the team capture a silver medal at the 2023 World Cup and a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
